Rusmin Alwani Shukery has 25 years practising experience in legal field. Prior to founding Messrs Rusmin Ida & Taryna in 2005, she headed the Corporate Banking and Mortgage Litigation Division of her former firm, Messrs Shahrizat, Rashid & Lee (“SRL”) in Penang.
She has an extensive trial and appellate experience and has acted in contentious cases in the Subordinate Courts, High Courts, the Court of Appeal and the Federal Court of Malaysia for her institutional and/or individual clients in her area of expertise during her illustrious years of practice. Some of the cases conducted by her have been reported and published as authoritative cases in corporate and commercial litigation by the Malaysia Law Journal and the Current Law Journal.
Rusmin Alwani’s greatest success was having a claim for damages exceeding RM1.2 billion for breach of contract arising from a land dispute dismissed by the High Court. She was also subsequently successful in the appeal to the Court of Appeal. The case involved various points of law and issues relating to legal procedure, breach of contract and land law.
